Malaysia to Resume Search for Missing Flight MH370 on December 30

**Malaysia to Resume Search for Missing Flight MH370 on December 30**

The Malaysian government has announced that it will restart the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. The deep-sea mission will begin on December 30, 2025. United States-based company Ocean Infinity has been contracted to conduct the operation. The government has agreed to pay Ocean Infinity $70 million—but only if the company finds the wreckage of the aircraft.

Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It had 239 people on board. Despite multiple search efforts over the past decade, the plane has never been found. The disappearance remains one of the biggest mysteries in aviation history.

Ocean Infinity will have 55 days to locate the wreckage during this new mission. The company will use advanced underwater robots to scan the ocean floor. These robots are equipped with sonar and cameras. They can reach deep parts of the ocean that are difficult for humans to explore.

Malaysian Minister of Transport Anthony Loke said the decision was made after Ocean Infinity offered strong new data. The company believes it can narrow down the search to a specific area in the southern Indian Ocean. Loke added that the government will only make the payment if the aircraft is positively identified.

Previous searches for MH370 covered more than 120,000 square kilometers of seabed. Some aircraft debris has been found washed up on beaches in the Indian Ocean. However, investigators have not located the main wreckage site. Important data like the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder remain missing.

The families of the passengers and crew have continued to push for answers. Many were present at the announcement and welcomed the government’s decision. They hope the renewed effort will finally bring closure to the tragedy.

Ocean Infinity conducted a previous search in 2018 but was not successful. The company has since improved its technology. It now plans to deploy a fleet of unmanned submarines for this mission.

The Malaysian government says it remains committed to finding MH370 for the sake of the families and aviation safety.
